September 27

Talk about "pea soup" fog---the densest it has been in years. This is at 7 am today.

September 26

A really cute stray on our porch when we got home the 25th. Fortunately, animal control picked him up and said a family was already looking for their lost Pug; also that Pugs are the most easily adopted at the shelter. So, I didn't have to feel guilty for not keeping him.

September 25

A fun afternoon at the Hiwassee River bridge and Parksville Lake with a very special birthday girl.

September 24

Yertl the Turtle was hiding in the pool area---I let him stay.

September 23

A new yard finding---the mushroom hamburger bun.

September 22

Lynn weeding Mom's new "lawn".

September 21

The Inner Harbor---wish our family could have visited. Never enough time on these tours.

September 20

The Mayflower and the Rock---the main attractions in Plymouth.

September 18

Other Boston sights---the oldest church (233 yr.); Old Ironsides; Old North Church; and Paul Revere's home. A fairly fun day, but the only full day in Boston on the 17th.

September 17

Hugh's birthday cake after the waiters sang to him. He, Hal, and I then went to Fenway Park for a Red Sox game---which they surprisingly won. Sorry I didn't take any pictures there.

September 16

Top is the Concord Bridge the minutemen defended and the bottom is Lexington Green where the whole business actually started. A great guide and a neat tour.

September 15

A very excellent museum in Boston near Boston University. Highlight of the day.

September 14

The top is the George Washington Masonic Memorial, the only stop in DC. Lunch at an IHOP.
The other is shot from the bus---the closest we got to something we might want to see in DC.
Go figure.

September 13

Traffic up 81, 66, DC---wherever, whatever. Who chose this way to Boston?!!

September 11

Ten years...thousands of stories...monuments rising from ashes...truly remarkable strength of character...very sad for families...very proud of the responders...never to be forgotten.

September 10

Very sad to report that CK has been missing one week. Gram, Nate, and I are extremely upset and wish he would come home.

September 9

I guess I talked the ear off a concrete deer....

One of Mother Nature's special creatures so hope no one minds that I blog them a lot.
